Time in Argentina
Argentina is located at a longitude that would naturally put it in the UTC−4 or UTC−5 time zone, but it actually uses the UTC−3 time zone. Argentina determines whether to observe daylight saving time on a year-by-year basis, and individual provinces may opt out of the federal decision. At present, Argentina does not observe daylight saving time.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=El Gobierno no adelantará la hora oficial el próximo domingo )
The Argentine Hydrographic Service〔(Hora Oficial )〕 maintains the official national time.
==History==
Historically, some or all of Argentina has observed daylight saving time during austral summer 1989–1990 through austral summer 1992–1993, and again in 2007−2008, and 2008−2009.〔(Planet Ark : Argentine Congress OKs Time Change to Save Energy )〕
The first official standardization took place on 25 September 1894.
The official time switched between UTC−4 and UTC−3 from 1920 to 1969,〔()〕 and then between UTC−3 and UTC−2 from 1974 to 1993.〔()〕 On 7 March 1993 it was fixed at UTC−3, called Argentina Time (ART)〔http://www.timeanddate.com/library/abbreviations/timezones/sa/art.html〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Time zone names- Argentina Time )
